BASF Cleans Up With New Rheofinish 298C

BASF Construction Chemicals has launched Rheofinish® 298C, a cost-effective, biodegradable solvent-free barrier oil which reduces the adherence of concrete residues to the metal surfaces of machinery such as concrete mixers and other equipment in contact with freshly-mixed concrete, mortar and plaster.

Rheofinish® 298C adheres to metal surfaces covered by a water film and also has an anticorrosive effect. It can be applied immediately after cleaning and spreads underneath the surface water film to form a highly adhesive protective coat, making it much more difficult for residual concrete or mortar to adhere to the equipment, so cleaning is much easier. Any existing build-up is softened and gradually peels off over a period of extended use. Rheofinish® 298C is also suitable for use with equipment used in the production & transport of asphalt.

Solvent-free Rheofinish® 298C is safe and eliminates many of the health and environmental risks associated with traditional form release agents based on mineral oils.
